The resort is just a one-minute drive from Fort Stockton’s main shopping and dining area. During our stay, we made a quick trip to Walmart, which was super convenient. While there isn’t a lot of shopping in town, having essentials nearby was really helpful. The easy access to Interstate 10 also makes this park an excellent stop for anyone traveling through the area.

4. Things to Do in Fort Stockton
We didn’t get the chance to explore much of Fort Stockton, but if you’re looking for activities, there are a few options to check out:
- Pecos County Historical Old Jail – A historic building that offers a glimpse into the town’s past.
- Paisano Pete – Snap a photo with the iconic roadrunner statue, one of the largest in the world.
- Historic Fort Stockton Museum – Learn about the area’s military and frontier history.
- Annie Riggs Memorial Museum – Explore artifacts and exhibits showcasing life in early West Texas.
Final Thoughts
Our stay at Hill Top RV Resort was quiet, relaxing, and convenient. The amenities were excellent, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the desert setting provided beautiful views, especially at sunset. While Fort Stockton isn’t a bustling hub of activity, this RV park is a great place to stop and recharge.
