While our visit was in December, when the town transforms into a holiday wonderland, Williams offers something special no matter the season. The Grand Canyon Railway RV Resort sets a high bar for RV accommodations. With full hookups, paved pull-through and back-in spots, fire pits, and picnic tables, the resort is well-equipped for both comfort and convenience.

Guests also have access to the nearby Grand Canyon Railway Hotel’s indoor pool and fitness center, which is a treat after a day of exploring.

The resort’s registration office and general store were lifesavers, offering everything from snacks to RV essentials. The friendly staff made us feel right at home, and were happy to share recommendations for local attractions.

  • One of the top attractions in Williams is Bearizona, a drive-through wildlife park where you can see animals like black bears, wolves, bison, and elk up close. For those who want a more immersive experience, the park also offers walking trails with exhibits and shows.
  • Inside the park is the Canyonlands Restaurant, a cave-themed dining experience with incredible ambiance and delicious food. Keep in mind that you’ll need park tickets to access the restaurant, but it’s well worth it for the unique setting and tasty local bites.

Route 66 Nostalgia:

  • Williams is proud of its connection to Route 66, and you’ll find plenty of themed diners, shops, and museums celebrating the Mother Road’s history. Stroll down main street, snap a photo with the iconic signs, and browse for unique souvenirs at the many local shops.
