Over the Fourth of July week, we spent seven days at Pigeon Forge Landing RV Resort in Sevierville, TN — and it turned out to be one of the cleanest, most spacious, and most family-friendly RV resorts we’ve stayed at.

Not only was the resort itself packed with great amenities (hello, poolside afternoons and hot tub evenings), but it was also the perfect home base for exploring everything the Pigeon Forge area has to offer. 

From water slides and golf cart parades at the resort to mountain coasters, UTV off-roading, and jet boat rides just minutes away, there was never a dull moment.

We’ve stayed at a lot of RV resorts, but Pigeon Forge Landing RV Resort instantly stood out — not just because of its location, but because of how clean, well-designed, and peaceful it was, even during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year.

Spacious Sites & Well-Kept Grounds

The sites here are some of the most spacious we’ve come across, plenty of room for your rig, tow vehicle, and still enough space for kids to play or enjoy a picnic outside. The concrete pads were level, hookups were easy, and everything was maintained daily. 

The resort also offers valet trash pickup, which is a simple but appreciated convenience for more extended stays.

Resort Amenities We Loved

• Pool & Hot Tub – A highlight for sure. The pool area was clean and never felt overcrowded, even with holiday crowds. The hot tub was a welcome spot for parents at the end of the day.
  
• Pickleball Courts – Nice, new courts just a short walk from the main resort area. Great for a quick game and perfect for families or friendly competitions.
  
• Camp Store & Laundry – Conveniently stocked with essentials and snacks, and the laundry room was clean and spacious — a big bonus for long stays.
  
• Riverfront Access – One of our favorite parts of the resort is that it backs up to the Little Pigeon River. Whether you’re walking your dog along the path, sitting outside with coffee in the morning, or just enjoying the peaceful view, having the river right there adds so much to the experience.

4th of July Festivities

We were there during the 4th of July week, and this resort went all out. The schedule was packed with activities like:

Even during peak holiday season, the resort felt like a quiet retreat. But step just outside, and you’re immediately connected to everything you came for — attractions, dining, shopping, and outdoor adventures. It’s the kind of location that gives you the best of both worlds.

Walkable Highlights

You don’t even have to get in the car to start exploring. A short walk from the resort brings you to:

Smoky Mountain Jet Boat Ride

Located at Douglas Lake, this ride is a must for thrill-seekers. The boat does high-speed spins, quick stops, and sharp turns that make for a super fun experience — and a great way to cool off on a hot day. It’s suitable for families, and the views of the lake and mountains are a bonus.

Wildside UTV Offroad Tour

If you’ve never done a UTV tour before, this one is a blast. You’ll ride through rough terrain, creeks, and scenic trails while getting muddy in all the best ways. We loved that the route felt adventurous without being too extreme for beginners. Bonus: They also offer rentals if you want to explore on your own.

SkyLand Ranch & Mountain Coaster

Part mountaintop ranch, part family fun park, SkyLand Ranch is great for kids and adults. We took the scenic chairlift up, rode the Wild Stallion Mountain Coaster, and enjoyed the animals, food, and views at the top. It’s a unique experience that blends entertainment with Smoky Mountain scenery.

Hollywood Wax Museum

Perfect for a rainy day or an afternoon laugh, this museum had us posing with everyone from Elvis to The Rock. It’s quirky, it’s fun, and it’s located in the heart of Pigeon Forge, surrounded by other attractions, so you can easily pair it with other stops.

Pigeon Forge and Sevierville are packed with fun activities — whether you’re traveling with toddlers, teens, or just looking to be a kid at heart. Beyond the adventures we tried, here are a few more popular attractions and hidden gems worth checking out during your stay:

Dollywood

Just a short drive away, Dollywood is one of the most beloved theme parks in the country — and for good reason. With world-class roller coasters, shows, crafts, and food, it’s a must-visit if you’re spending more than a few days in the area.

The Island in Pigeon Forge

This outdoor entertainment complex features shopping, restaurants, a giant observation wheel, and free nightly fountain shows. Kids love the arcade and ropes course, while adults appreciate spots like Margaritaville and the distillery tastings.

Mini Golf & Go-Karts

You’ll find these everywhere, from over-the-top pirate and jungle-themed mini golf to multi-level go-kart tracks with mountain views. Our advice? Pick one that looks fun and go for it. They’re all within 10–15 minutes of the resort.

Scenic Drives & Nature

If you’re craving mountain air, take a drive through Wears Valley, Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, or even head into Great Smoky Mountains National Park for hiking, waterfalls, and unforgettable views. Some of these scenic routes start just a short distance from the resort.

Ripley’s Attractions

Gatlinburg is close enough for a half-day trip, and Ripley’s has everything from an aquarium to mirror mazes and haunted adventures. It’s touristy, but kids love it.

Local Eats We Loved

Whether you’re craving Southern comfort food, a sweet treat, or something quick and kid-friendly, the Pigeon Forge area delivers. We didn’t eat out every day (thank you, RV kitchen!), but we did find some memorable spots, plus a few fun surprises right inside the resort.

Food Trucks at the Resort

During the 4th of July week, the resort brought in rotating food trucks that made dinner easy and fun. Options ranged from BBQ plates to loaded fries. It was a great way to grab a casual meal without ever leaving the park, and perfect for nights when no one felt like cooking.

The Apple Barn & Cider Mill

Located just a short walk from the RV resort, this place is a whole experience. You’ll find a general store, winery, creamery, bakery, and two restaurants: the Applewood Farmhouse and the Applewood Grill. The apple fritters and homemade apple butter are worth the trip alone. It’s a great stop for breakfast, lunch, or even just a cider float.

Kid-Friendly & Quick Bites

Pigeon Forge is filled with family-friendly chain options if you’re in a pinch, but you’ll also find fun spots like:

• Mel’s Diner – 1950s-style diner with burgers, shakes, and significant portions
