Vermont state park experience highest attendance in seven years

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- After a rainy, chilly early summer that left some Vermont state parks looking like ghost towns, attendance picked up to make 2009 the best in at least seven years, newly released figures from the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation show.

SEBRING, Fla. -- In response to an improving economy, the Florida Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds announced Oct. 14 that advance reservations are up at many campgrounds and RV parks around the state.

PHOENIX -- The state park system needs an infusion of outside cash, possibly from a surcharge on vehicle license taxes, to keep it from collapsing, according to a new report.

UNION TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The upscale campground owned by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe was granted a special use permit by Union Township planners Wednesday.

 
Business continues to bloom at Minnesota State Parks

ST. PAUL, Minn. --  Following a busy summer season during which the number of occupied campsites increased 9 percent over 2008, business continues to boom at Minnesota state parks, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
